Claude D Zacharias – LLM (Retired Former Swedish Lawyer and member of the Swedish Bar Association (1991-2022))

Claude Zacharias Attorney Claude D Zacharias was accepted as a member of the Swedish Bar Association in 1991. He has written many articles and books such as the 1020 page second edition of Commentary to 2011 Real Estate Agency Law and The Surveyor’s Liability for Real Estate Transfer Inspections. Attorney Zacharias obtains assignments such as the chief executive officer or working member of the Company´s board of Directors in order to develop routines for the management and board of directors as well as run business operations for a limited time. He regularly participates as an additional board member for different companies. As a consultant, he served as CEO for Fastighetsmäklarförbundet FMF AB (Inc.), one of the two major association for real estate agents in Sweden. Attorney Zacharias is a member of Affärsverkstaden - a business network located in Stockholm. He is regularly hired as a lecturer by universities and others. Special expertise: Business law for joint owned small and middle size businesses includes partnership agreements, arbitration or litigation. Services concerning real estate emphasize property flaws, condominium law, tenant law, real estate agency law, and consumer contracts. In addition Attorney Zacharias is also assigned to major disputes and litigation concerning inheritance law.Claude D Zacharias has over three decades of experience as a lawyer, specialising in economic family law, property law, and business law for small and medium-sized enterprises.

He became a member of the Swedish Bar Association in 1991 and worked both within the Swedish legal system and internationally, assisting clients with various legal matters, both in court and before authorities.

Following his retirement in 2022, Claude D Zacharias voluntarily left the Bar Association and is no longer permitted to use the title of “Advokat (Advocate).” However, he retains his expertise and experience, as well as his academic title of LL.M.

Since Claude D Zacharias’ relocation to Malta in 2024, he now offers his knowledge and experience to Swedes living or working in Malta, as well as assistance with local law firms and other legal experts in Malta.

The practice, which was previously run in various legal configurations, has always been based on the foundation established by Claude D Zacharias’ late father, Attorney Richard M Zacharias, and his clients.

Attorney Richard M Zacharias passed away in 1989, and his clients were transferred to Claude D Zacharias, even though at that time he was only working as a junior lawyer at Styrbjörn Gärde Law Firm. Over the years, the practice has naturally evolved, and new clients have been added.

Like his father, Claude D Zacharias has a loyal companion in Basse, who entered the world in 2014. Basse is an experienced “animal lawyer” and remains a faithful companion to his owner.

Claude D Zacharias continues to focus on the areas that have always driven his career: economic family law, particularly inheritance and estate administration (estate executor), real estate law, and business law for small and medium-sized enterprises.

His expertise has also significantly included assisting clients in court and before other authorities to ensure the best possible outcome in their legal matters.

Claude D Zacharias has written several articles and published books, including “The Surveyor’s Liability in Property Transfer Inspections” and a “Commentary on the 2011 Real Estate Agent Act”, both contributing to legal literature in his areas of expertise.
